Pregnancy Weight Gain
I found this little blurb about weight gain and according to most of the things I have read this seems to be a summary of what they say:
Weight gain in an average woman should be around 25 to 35 pounds. Although, if you are underweight, you may be told to gain more and told to gain less should you be overweight. But remember your baby, placenta, increased blood flow, uterus, amniotic fluid, maternal breast mass and fluid retention will only account for 17 to 26 pounds. Anything over and above that are maternal extra stores and can prove to be quite difficult to take off after a birth.
The second trimester is a period of rapid growth for the baby and many physical and emotional changes for the mother. The feeling you have lost control of your body is common. You may have out grown your clothes, feel less attractive and have a disinterest in sex. At those times, it is important to keep reminding yourself pregnancy is temporary and soon your body will resemble it's former self.
Pregnancy Weight Calculator
This is the infamous weight gain calculator that I use on a regular basis, it make me feel better to be "normal"! Please keep the above paragraph in mind though, everyone is different.
